16. If U C Jordan (Audioboxer; Galaxy Sessions; LTTW; Live at Fillmore Theater)
17. Punk Rock Princess (Audioboxer; Galaxy Sessions; LTTW; Live at Fillmore Theater; Songs for Silent Movies)This dvd starts off following Andrew, Clutch, Brian, and Josh around. Andrew gets his hair cut; Clutch bowls his best game "while filming the dvd!!"; Josh... I dunno really what he does lol... walks around town a bit; Brian --ah funny guy!-- searches for a music shop to get drum sticks. Man seriously I never knew how funny Brian is;) and Clutch as well!
Then the guys get ready to play at Ventura...
Then comes the concert! Awesome, awesome performance.. They sound as good live if not better in almost every song! And I have to mention that in "Drunk Girl" Andrew accidently starts to sing the wrong verse, and he is so hilarious about it! Man he's so charming... Anyways they start the concert fast-paced, then slow it down with the songs "Wait", "Walking By", and the famous "Konstantine", which I must say are absolutely gorgeous and emotional here. The band speeds it back up at the end with the fun songs "Space", "If U C Jordan", and "Punk Rock Princess."
Definitely a must-have for every SoCo fan out there.. and even if you're hesitant about this band, this concert will surely turn you into the biggest fan!

Summer's Lease (1989) Review

Summer's Lease (1989)

I caught this mini-series on PBS in the 80's and I have never forgotten it. I have, in fact, longed to see it again so much that for years I searched the internet for copies of it and hassled the people at Scarecrow Video. At last, I saw that it was available and snatched it up as soon as I could. Not only was I NOT disappointed with the show, I was even more intrigued and enchanted by the mystery and the wit and of course the lucious scenery of the Tuscan villa and surrounding landscape. Its a wonderful blend of Italian and English sentiment and character. While waiting for this to be available I read the Mortimer novel on which it was based and even that paled in comparison to this production!

A family vacation in Tuscany leads to intrigue and mystery in a Masterpiece Theatre presentation written by John Mortimer (Rumpole of the Bailey) and starring Sir John Gielgud in an Emmy Award(r)-winning role. The minute she sets eyes on it, Molly Pargeter (Susan Fleetwood) knows that the Tuscan villa she has found to lease is perfect for her family's summer holiday. She is powerfully drawn to its rustic beauty and to the enigma of its absentee landlord. Never mind that her husband and teenaged daughter are vocally unenthusiastic and that her outrageously extroverted father (Sir John Gielgud) tricks them into taking him along. As the family goes sightseeing and gathers for candlelit dinners on the terrace, Molly becomes increasingly obsessed with unraveling the secrets of the villa's owner and of the British expatriates and locals they encounter. Her father lends a hand with the sleuthing while remaining on the prowl, zeroing in on a certain rich widow with whom he shares a romantic past.

Pollyanna (2004) Review

Pollyanna (2004)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Georgina Terry plays Pollyanna with a sweet faced, ever-happy style that suits the plot. It's pretty faithful to the original plot of the missionary's daughter, orphaned and coming to live with a strict aunt. As Pollyanna plays her "Glad Game" and teaches it to the problem characters, the villagers' lives are transformed. Everyone from the reclusive misanthrope to the chronically ill to the town doctor find new ways of looking at life from interacting with the little girl.
The very name Pollyanna is now synonymous for unreasoning optimism due to this book. I loved this story when I read it as a child and am glad they treated it well in this remake.
The costumes and setting fit very well (although the original book was not English) and have the usual high quality of a Masterpiece Theater production.
I had to knock off a star because sometimes the actors spoke too fast or breathlessly so some of the dialogue is lost.

All Passion Spent (2006) Review

All Passion Spent (2006)

Lady Slane (Wendy Hiller) spent all her life being an et ux. She enjoyed being the wife of the viceroy, a mother, and a leader of charities. However when her husband died she finally, against her children's wishes, had time to contemplate her life, what it could have been and what it will be.
She moves into a smaller house that she had seen 30 years before. Now she strikes up a friend ship with people as the house owner, the craftsman repairing the house and others.
Unknown to her is a friend of one of her sons, who knew her 60 years ago in India. He reliving the time and she realizing that they both had great depth that was not required of them at the time, form a unique friendship.
We get the privilege of watching Lady Slane make her discoveries and the reaction to this by the family. Of particular interest is her great grand daughter is now on the cusp of making the same life choice that Lady Slane succumbed to.
Based on the novel by Vita Sackville-West, "All Passion Spent" we see a lot of Vita's real life parallels. The screen adaptation is by Peter Buckman. This film has that BBC quality.

The acclaimed BBC adaptation of Vita Sackville-West’s beloved novel starring Dame Wendy Hiller Dame Wendy Hiller delivers a delicately nuanced performance in Vita Sackville-West’s classic story of emerging feminist identity in post-Victorian England."When can one please oneself if not in old age?" asks 85-year-old Lady Slane (Hiller), who frees herself from society’s expectations upon the death of her politically prominent husband. To the shock of her children, who seem more concerned with the disposition of the estate than with their mother’s happiness, the widow retreats to a cottage in the Hampstead countryside to rediscover herself. Nominated for four BAFTA Awards (including best drama series and best actress), this BBC production brings Sackville-West’s best-known novel to the screen with all its emotional complexity, intellectual vigor, and profound feeling.

Popcorn Bags (8") - 50 Count Review

Popcorn Bags (8) - 50 Count

I ordered this bag thinking it would be nice and easy to distribute popcorn to guests and customers. Boy was I wrong. The bags were so flimsy. If you hed the bags by the bottom they would tip over and the popcorn salt and butter soaked right through them. On top of that the shipping cost more than the bags. I wil never order from them again.

New LCD Projector HDMI/PC/TV/AV/VGA/S-Video for Office and Home Review

New LCD Projector HDMI/PC/TV/AV/VGA/S-Video for Office and Home
Average Reviews:

I've had the SV-100H Projector for a couple of weeks now. I actually bought it on ebay, but the price is similar to the one on Amazon. First off, I should announce that the SV-100H is NOT a HD projector! It is HD compatible, which means that it can 'recognize' a HD signal, and play the picture. The native resolution is 800x600 and it will not actually make any image at a higher resolution than 800x600, but it will downscale higher resolutions to be played. You can notice the pixels, which does bother some people, but the pixels are not TOO bad.
That being said, the image quality is GREAT for this price!! NATIVE RESOLUTION IS NOT EVERYTHING, I used to have a name brand projector with 1024x768 native resolution, and I promise you that the SV-100H has WAY better image quality! The HDMI connector counts for a lot on this baby, when you plug in the HDMI, image quality is terrific.
Now, this is obviously one of those cheap Asian knock-off products, but among the cheap Asian knock-off projectors, this is probably the best. I looked into it, and most of the others are only 640x480 native resolution, while this one is 800x600.
I bought this projector instead of an flat screen HDTV (in the same price range) and I made the right choice. The image quality on this projector -clearly- blows an old tube TV out of the water. The picture is not as good as a flat screen HDTV, but it's not much worse either, and for this price you can not get a HDTV bigger than 25 inches. The projector can make HUGE pictures easily.
This projector is a lot of fun, you can plug just about anything in to it, and it's very light weight. I can easily stuff it into my little backpack and take it to my friends house, it plugs in with a simple power cable that a typical computer uses. The projector is very cheaply made, thin plastic, cheap parts, it's somewhat fragile, but keep in mind that you generally don't touch a projector. I personally am grateful for it being so cheaply made, because that makes it cheap to buy, I couldn't care less if it were made of wood shavings. The picture is awesome and it is very simple to use. I don't know if you can buy replacement bulbs here on Amazon, but the ebay seller 'bluefly' sells bulbs upon request for $30 which is an amazing price considering the lamp life. Other projector bulbs can sell for the price of this whole projector! In the range of $150 to $250, and they often have shorter reported lamp lifespan.
I have my SV-100H projector connected via HDMI to my Playstation 3, and via AV cable to my digital TV converter, and it's so much fun to go in my room and be able to play and watch TV on my entire wall. It's got a pretty quick start up time, but is a bit slow to cool off.
It is sort of a noisy projector, it's got a couple big fans in it, and they spin very hard to keep the projector cool. However, it also has an internal speaker, and that speaker can get impressively loud. I've opted to use the internal speaker for watching TV daily and am very happy with the audio.
My conclusion, it's a cheap projector, it's cheaply built, but it's good where it counts. It is by no means a good projector in comparison to true HD projectors, but it is sold at a price that will make you feel proud for buying it. This is not a projector for very picky people, but for a family, your kids will flip out at being able to watch movies on the whole wall. Would be an awesome gift for teens, gamers, the image is good enough to spot far away targets in-game. I imagine it would be great for presentations. To get a name brand projector that gives you compatibility and image quality like this one, you would be looking at spending over $800
Personally I am VERY happy with my purchase of this projector!!!! I'm not too picky though.
EDIT:
Well I've been using the projector for a little over two weeks now, about 20 hours of run time on the bulb, and the bulb just burnt out. The person I bought it from on ebay says "I would be happy to send a new bulb for free, just pay shipping. $30" When they told me the bulb itself would be $30 last time I asked. Jerks.
I won't change my star rating, because I still really liked the projector..
