I put this in my 2008 Honda CRV. I should have purchased the dark grey color. The "grey" version is lighter than my existing seats. Oh well.
Video quality is great. No complaints.
I can't seem to get the remote to work unless it's right in front of the unit. Not so great if I need to make adjustments for my daughter while I'm in the front seat (like restarting a DVD). Hopefully she will learn the remote soon on her own!
I had it professionally installed, which cost me about one hundred fifty bucks. It took about an hour for the install.
The big problem I had was with the audio. The wireless FM transmitter (for playing sound through the speakers) is horrible in my car. It emitted a very loud HUM, no matter which channel I set it to, and the overall volume on the DVDs were barely audible.
Problem solved with having a wired FM modulator hooked up to the DVD system. Set me back another one fifty, but worth it. The sound is now perfect through the speakers in my car. Wish someone would have told me about this before the initial install. It would have saved me time and money! Hope this tip saves you the hassle I went through.
